NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AQUATIC PLANT MANAGEMENT PERMIT

The Delavan Lake Sanitary District intends to apply for permits from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to treat approximately 165 acres of Delavan Lake with aquatic pesticides to control algae and/or aquatic plants. The proposed treatments would occur between April 15 and November 15, 2023.
The Sanitary District will conduct a public information meeting on the proposed treatment if five or more individuals, organizations, special units of government or local units of government request one. The meeting would give citizens a chance to learn more about the proposed treatment from the permit applicant. The Delavan Lake Sanitary District is not required to, but may, change the proposed treatment based upon information provided by citizens attending the meeting.
Any request for a public meeting on this proposed treatment must be made within five (5) days after this notice is published. The request must specify the topics to be discussed at the meeting, including problems and alternatives, and must be sent in writing to the Delavan Lake Sanitary District, 2990 South County Road F, Delavan, WI 53115 and to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Waukesha Service Center, 151 NW Barstow Street, Room 180, Waukesha, WI 53188.
This notice is required by Chapter NR 107, Wisconsin Administrative Code.
