Due to the early warm up this year, the pelicans visited Delavan Lake earlier than normal.  After a long migration and the sudden drop in temperatures we've experienced this year, it is possible you may see a deceased pelican or two around the lake.  It is completely natural and not an indicator of water quality on the lake.  If you see a deceased pelican, please do not attempt to retrieve it as they can carry various diseases.  Please notify the Sanitary District of its location and we will take care of the disposal as soon as possible.
